Twas the night before Christmas and all through the night
not a creature was stirring, not even the light.
The wishes were hung by the chimney with care
in the hopes that those listening might be willing to share
their dreams and their thoughts with a little bit of flair.
The fear of the unknown was placed in a drawer
shut up tight and not permitted to speak forever more.
And Courage in her finest and Joy in her best
had just settled in for a journey at last.
When out in the ocean of life did appear
a man they called "doubt" smiling an evil sneer.
I have started the poem and it is your turn to finish. Try to keep the rhyme scheme and the characters figurative. What will "Doubt" do now that he has come across Courage and Joy?

The man named "Doubt" cut down the tree,
But Courage and Joy came to get me.
I looked Mr. Doubt straight in the eye,
and said your not ruining Christmas this time.
I cornered him into the red brick wall,
and said stay out before I give Santa a call.
I guess Mr. Doubt learned to properly behave so,
because he kissed Mrs. Joy under the mistletoe.
encoDoubt snickered and smiled
joy and courage were setting off for awhile
a bump in the road, a tear or two here
doubt would not get them down, they were oh so near
when all of a sudden doubt appeared out of the night
he gave courage and joy an overwelming fright.
come closer he said and listen to me
those flowers and rainbows are not as they seem
you cannnot get through, you will never succeed
courage and joy disregarded his message
they continued with confidence but son it began to age.
the seed of doubt was filling their brains
what if we fail? where will we go?How will we finish when time lets go?
the seed was growing bigger and bigger, you would think it would stop but they coundt figure.
the bigger it got the slower they became and no one knows what happpened to them to this day.
so be careful my children of that seed of doubt
on little seed that could turn you out
never say you cant or give it a try
or else youll be unhappy and have to live with yourself until you die.
