Hamlet's Father is betrayed when he is poisoned by his brother Claudius. Claudius then takes the throne of the king and marries the king's wife. This adds insult to injury. This betrayal is present in the movie The Lion King. Mufassa, the king lion, is killed by his brother in almost an identical circumstance as hamlet. Scar, the lion that killed Mufassa, took over the role as king. People were not happy with this pop culture example of betrayal. Still to this day Kids are haunted by the sight of Mufassa dying. It was truly a tragedy. The result is that the characters were all sad and it triggered the conflict of the entire story.
A character who is betrayed in Hamlet is Hamlet's father because after he dies, Hamlet's brother marries his mom. There is no bigger betrayal than having family turn on you. If one of my brothers did that to me, I'd never forgive them. As well as Hamlet, this is also present in the show Grey's Anatomy. One of the main characters, Callie Torres, was cheated on by her husband with one of her good friends. To me, cheating is by far the worst thing someone could ever do. It absolutely destroys people and everything that they are. In this world, betrayal is everywhere. You just have to find the right people to stick by.

Jesus steals the keys to the truck they're driving and steals the truck, left to walk on foot. Jesus played off like he was running from zombies and that he was going to continue running, but instead stole Rick and Darryl's truck. Trust is something that is not really found anymore. People now think lying and cheating is okay because it is so common. There are times where you think you can trust someone and they turn out the complete opposite. It makes me sick to my stomach!!

In the tv show One Tree Hill it’s about a bunch of high school students who go through a ridiculously large amount of drama. Peyton and Brooke are best friends and one day Peyton finds out that Brooke ended up getting with her boyfriend Nathan leaving her feel betrayed and causing a whole lot of drama. These two connect with the betrayal leaving the characters upset and angry.
In Hamlet betrayal starts off the story. Claudius betrays King Hamlet by killing him and taking his fortune, his wife, and his position as King. In society today betrayal happens to everyone at some point in their life. Betrayal has become a very common and accepted thing in today's times. In Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith Anakin betrays everyone he knows by joining the dark side. In the movies he was suppose to be the chosen one who stops the dark side, but in the mist of getting stronger he learns that in the future he kills his wife Padmé. After learning this he learns who the Sith lord is and decides to learn the dark side to hopefully save her. Little to his knowledge him trying to save Padmé is what ultimately kills her.

In Burn Notice, Michael who is the main character finds out that Simon, one of the people he was working with to try to find out who burned him, was working with the CIA. And to add more salt to the wound, Michael was actually working with the bad guys. The betrayals in Hamlet and Burn Notice are the same because even after finding out something or something happening to you, the person just makes it worse and adds more salt to the wound. Both of these events set up some major storylines within the show and the writing of Shakespeare.

Without trust, the relationship will not be successful. Betrayal is all around us and we just have to choose our friends/relationships carefully.

Hamlet's uncle did this most likely because he wanted to become king. He wanted the throne, power, and also the queen. I have seen betrayal in many different pop cultures, but one that sticks out to me is in the movie cyberbully. In the movie Taylor's best friend makes a fake account of some kid that Taylor begins to like. She tells him everything over an instant messaging site. When the friend becomes angry at Taylor she releases all of her secrets as the boy. She betrayed her friendship by posing to be somebody she wasn't and then using all of Taylor's personal information against her. Betrayal is everywhere. You have to be careful what you are telling people because they could quickly throw that back in your face.

Throughout the rest of the book Hamlet is forced to live with the fact that his own father is a ghost who cannot make it to heaven because of his uncle. They were all family, but betrayal ruined it. The characters have no idea if they will turn on friends or family and the same is for the friends and family. It depends on the trust between the group.

Another example from american horror story is in season 3 (coven), when Madison betrays Zoe by having an affair with her boyfriend. In this season Madison is seen as a disloyal person among the others. People usually feel very hurt after they have been betrayed leaving them angry or confrontational with the person who betrayed them.

When Queen Gertrude marries Claudius less than two months after her husband dies, she betrays Hamlet by making him question her motive for marrying him in the first place. He feels confused and ashamed, upset at his mother for remarrying so quickly, while she just tells him to 'get over it' and 'stop mourning'. Betrayal is seen in the Kim Possible episode 'So The Drama". Kim is fighting her nemesis Dr. Drakken, and to distract her from his plans, he creates a synthetic drone named 'Synthodrone 901', also called Eric. Eric attends Kim's school, and they hit it off instantly. Kim genuinely likes Eric, and this is huge for her, as she had never had a steady boyfriend before. However, at the junior prom, Kim's friend's pet rat bites a hole in Eric shoe after he offends him, and the synthetic goo starts pouring out of him and he breaks down. In this instance, Kim is betrayed because she thought she would actually have a relationship while fighting crime, and it turns out he was just another experiment by Drakken. the result of betrayel is typically a lot of hurt and anger. Some of the time, betrayal is done by someone who already has a negative relationship with the person they are betraying, so their negative feelings only heighten. But in those instances where someone who is very close to the other betrays them, it is hard to earn the trust back. Once the betrayer does prove their loyalty and trust is honest, though, the two become close again. There is always that negative aura, but it is typically overshadowed soon enough.

Miley ends up feeling absolutely awful about not telling Lily and apologizes day after day until she makes it up and they stay friends for four more seasons. Betrayal is usually a solvable issue in pop culture but in the real world, not so much.

For example in the matrix the characters re in the matrix and the one character cypher unplugged the cord, therefore they could not come back. People today do not like the emotion or the feeling of being betrayed ,also they think it is not right to betray your friends and should not happen to anybody.

In general, nobody likes to be betrayed and those who do the betraying are looked down upon socially and within the pop culture pieces in which they reside.

Through out the series you see Blair and Serena constantly going back and forth with one another, although they claim to be "best friends". It all started when Serena went behind Blair's back, hooked up with Blair's boyfriend, and instead of owning up to it, Serena left without telling anyone the reasons why, which caused a lot of tension between her, Blair, and all of the other characters. Betrayal is common in today's pop culture, and it's used as almost a fish hook to get the attention of others.
