Celebrating small kindnesses and basking in the little things.

In a week, we will be celebrating Thanksgiving.  For many this is one of the only times we express our gratitude for those around us and for what we have.  This week's blog is a time for us to think about what we are thankful for.

I am thankful to have a family that no matter my mood they are there for me.  They always accept me. I am thankful for the laughter and hugs of my children.  They are my smile.  No matter what my day has been like, my children remind of what is important.  I am thankful to still have my grandfather around.  He is the living embodiment of my family line.  He brings the history and stories of our past to the future.  He reminds me of what a man/father should be: strong, courageous, passionate about life, gentle, loving, an example for his family.  My grandparents were married for 62 years and my grandpa only ever had eyes for my grandma.  I am thankful for my husband and the family we have together.  I am thankful for all that I have worked for and earned through that hard word.  I am thankful that I get to go to work each day and be part of your lives, to watch you learn, to watch you prepare to embark on your greatest journey, and to watch you graduate at the end of the year.

Your assignment this week is to post what you are thankful for.

Happy Thanksgiving and welcome to the holiday season!

I am so thankful for my family and close friends. Without them being apart of my life, I would be so lost. But, the one person who I am the most thankful for would be my grandmother. I say this because she is the closest person to me. We share a bond that is so special and so rare. She is always there for me whenever I need her...no matter what. If I need advice on anything, she is always there to talk and express how she feels on the situation. If I need someone to just vent my feelings to, she is always there to just simply listen. She is my biggest supporter and is just always there for me when no one else is. She means the world to me and I would have no idea what to do without my grandmother. She is always there to help pick up the pieces and help me back onto my feet. I am so thankful for her, in every way possible.

I am thankful for many people and things that I have gone through in my life. Without the people that I do have in my life, I don't know where i would be. All the experiences that we have gone through in life can only make us stronger. I would like to give a special thanks to my mom and dad for always supporting me through the good and the bad. I would also like to thank all of my friends, because they are the biggest support system I have and I know if I ever needed anything that they would be there for me. I would also like to thank my aunt Tracey for agreeing to let me move in with her when I go to college. I am so thankful for what i have and the people I am the closest with.

I am thankful for my family and friends and all the good health. I am thankful that my sister and mom are still in remition from cancer and thankful that even though my dad had a rough few months with his health he is now back on his feet and strong again. I am also thankful to have such a wonderful family who supports me every step of the way. They are always there for me and want the best for me. I am thankful for all the wonderful people i have met so far in my life and even though i wont be talking to most of them once college starts, i am excited to meet new people and make new friends. I have so much to be thankful for!

I am thankful for the knowledge that the human race has collectively discovered about everything and anything that we have observed and experimented with, i.e. physics, music, language, psychology, philosophy, mathematics, etc. When you look at all of these concepts in a big picture, you realize how connected everything is to the human mind. This knowledge is due to the vast amount of imagination, determination, and exploration that the depths of human psyches have to conjure. If I may quote “Ode to Joy” by Friedrich, the thought of having so much knowledge and knowing that it can only increase over time sends a “spark from the Gods” that has me zealous to learn more.

I am thankful for my family, friends, and the kindness I not only receive, but give to others. I am thankful for my worldly possessions I do and do not have, for with or without them, I would not be the person I am today. I am thankful for my good health and imagination, I am also thankful for great teachers and great students, without them, I'd be pretty lonely at this school. I'm also thankful for existing, because well, without existence, I probably wouldn't be thankful for everything prior. Happy thanksgiving everyone!

I am thankful for my sister because she is my best friend and without her I don't think I could get through
life. I always have someone to talk to and she always has my back. I am thankful for my mom because she is
always there to listen and help me out. I definitely would not be where I am today without her. I am thankful
for my father and I thank God every day that he is still here with us and lived through his heart attack.
He does so much for me as well. My family is supportive as well and I can't be thankful enough for that. I am
thankful for my best friend and our friendship. It has really shown me that there are people out there who aren't
family members that can stick with you through everything. Not once have we ever had a huge fight. We can't go
through a long period of time without talking to each other. I also don't know where I'd be without her. she is
always there to listen as well. I feel as though I don't reciprocate enough. I am thankful for my life and that
I am still living. I have good health, a warm house, and do not have to worry ever about clothes or food. I am
thankful for the luxuries of life that aren't always luxuries for others. I am thankful for my education and the
people who make that possible (teachers). I am thankful for all the blessings in my life. I am truly blessed.

I am most thankful for my family. They are the people I surround myself with when I am sad or happy because they are the closest to me and always make the day a little better. My parents have driven me my whole life to be the best I can be in school to get far in life and I wouldn’t be in this class or any other AP class without their encouragement. Also my aunts, uncles, and even cousins are a big part in my family. I try to see them as much as possible because it lets me see familiar faces and to tell stories and really just be a happier person because they can make me feel better about myself no matter what. Family is my number one go to for help and I am thankful they will always be there for me and I will always be there for them.

I am most thankful for my family and the people around me. The expression "family is forever" really does say the truth. My family has always been the most influential part of my life. Also, the people close to me such as my friends are always there when I need them. Who would we be without close friends that you can always rely on to bring a smile to your face? That's what I'm thankful for

I am most thankful for my family. I learned a long time ago that friends will come and go, but your family is forever. (Not to say that I am not extremely grateful for the friends that I have now.) I have been blessed with the most amazing family ever! I have such loving and thoughtful parents who sacrifice more for me than I will ever know. They raised me right and I never had to wonder if I was loved or not. I have an amazing dad who embodies what it means to be a man of integrity. He is tough on the outside, but a teddy bear on the inside. He loves unconditionally and continuously does things for me. He loves people, but more than that, he loves God. My mom is my best friend. She is the shoulder I go to to cry on. She is the one that stays up until the wee hours of the morning just so that we can talk. She is my comforter. Together my parents have shown me what a family is supposed to look like. They showed me what marriage is meant to be. They instilled in me a love for life, and an appreciation for laughter. My sister Jordan is also a best friend to me. We've been through some hard times together, but they have only made us stronger. Being my only sister, we have a strong bond that I know will last a lifetime. She is everything that I am not. She gives me strength with her stubbornness and strong will. I never have to guess if she will be there for me. Most likely she will be the first. My brother Drew is beautiful. To me, he is everything a boy is supposed to be. How he has grown into such an amazing young man of integrity, (following after my dad, no doubt) is such an encouragement. Unlike many boys his age, he is extremely respectful and sacrificial. Trevor, my littlest brother is very special to me. He was born at a very dark time in my life, and has, in a way, saved me. He gets very excited about the smallest of things and is amazing. He loves life with a way I have never seen before. He loves in a way grown ups do not. His laughter makes me smile and he makes me happy. He is more of a son to me than a brother and I believe that is a bond we will share forever. I know what I have in my family is something that most people can only dream of. It's a safe haven and a place filled with laughter and happiness. I would not trade the world for my family and can only hope to have this kind of home life when I grow up and have my own family. My family is what I am most thankful for and what I will miss the most going to college ten hours away.

I am thankful for my parents because they stand by me no matter what happens or will happen in the future. I am thankful for my sister, she is my best friend and always will be. I am thankful for my brothers. I am thankful for the bond my siblings and i share and i hope to never loose that. I am thankful for my friends for standing my side when everything seems to be falling apart. I am very blessed with the people in my life.

I am thankful for having parents who not only support me, but are willing to take extra measures to make sure I have bright future. Even though I work, my parents are willing to pay for the majority of my college, along with my car, cellphone, and other luxuries I sometimes take for granted. I am also thankful for my friends, who are always there to support me and allow me to always be myself. I am thankful for having a nice house, food on the table, and a stable home life. Even when I think I have it bad, I know I could have it way worse and I am thankful for all I have been given. I'm especially thankful for having good health, it breaks my heart seeing people my age going through health issues I couldn't even begin to imagine.

I am thankful for my parents and the family I have. My parents have done everything for my siblings and I and have sacrificed a lot so that we always have the nicest stuff, can take little vacations every so often, and play one of the most expensive sports out there. My parents have moved our whole family to Ohio just so my brother can play hockey in Cleveland. It was hard on all of us, but mostly them. They always fight to make ends meet for the bills, yet my siblings and I are never deprived of anything we ever need. My only hope is to one day be as great of a parent to my own kids as my own parents are to me. I tell them each day how much I love them, just so they know how appreciative I am to have them in my life.

I am thankful for my home in which gives me shelter and keeps me cool in the summer, and warm in the winter. I am thankful for the food that I have. I am thankful for the music I have which has changed my life, because I doubt I would have any life that I have now if it was not for me picking up the trombone seven years ago. I am thankful of my license in which gives me a small freedom to go where I please at the right price of course. I am also thankful of the education in which I have because without it I probably would not be the bright individual that I am here today.

Although sometimes during stressful situations it is hard for me to look past tomorrow, but I have a lot of things to be thankful for. I am thankful for my close supportive friends and teachers who have been there to listen to me when I am upset or need guidance; it means the World to me with everything that has happened. I am also thankful for the generous acts of kindness that are granted upon my family. I do not take life or anything for granted because I know how precious life is. My family and I do our best to give to others and when things are done for us, I really appreciate it because we give more than receive. Although life is tough, I am thankful for it every day. I am thankful to be granted another day from God and try my best to smile because I know even when we hit what we think is rock bottom, it could be worse.

First and foremost, I am thankful that everyone I care about is still alive and healthy. I know that this is not the case for everyone, and consider myself extremely blessed. I know that the day will come eventually, but for now I am thankful that I still have everyone that I am close to. Secondly, I am thankful for my parents and the support they have provided me over the years. They’ve supported me in all my endeavors, and I would not be where I am today without them. Also, they have been reasonable throughout my entire high school career, giving me the freedom I want, therefore allowing me to get a better sense of how life really works after my time at home. The independence they have granted me is one of my most prized ‘possessions’. Next, I am thankful for all of my teachers throughout the years. They have not only taught me subject material, but also have helped me discover what I am passionate about. If it were not for some of these teachers, my path may have been very different than it is today. I am thankful for my friends. They help me through tough times, and together we’ve had some great times. They make my life exciting, and I know that I’ll always have someone who supports me. Finally, I am thankful for the small things – clothes…food…a working heater. These things give me comfort, and I try to never take advantage of them. They—along with the others listed above—are what I give thanks for this November.

What am I thankful for, I am thankful for so much. My family and friends because they have been there when things got tough, music because the lyrics are what I can not say but what I feel, and many more. Thanksgiving is about being thankful and many people focus on one thing they are thankful for during this time. I am thankful for everything the good and the bad, the good is what keeps us as humans going and the bad is what teaches us what not to do. The world and universe has so much to be thankful for but get ignored a lot of times we should be thankful for everything not just what we know but the unknown as well.

I'm thankful for a lot of things. It would be a long list if I decided to write them all. This being said, I'll name a few of the things I'm most thankful for. Of course I'm thankful for my family and my friends; that's obvious.
I'm also thankful for music. My having a small amount of musical talent and the others who share their musical talent with me(bands, wind ensemble, things like that). Another obvious one, I'm thankful for the good health of myself and those around me. Most of all, I would say I'm thankful that I have such an easy life style. I never had to experience war first hand or famine. I've never experience plague and disease or never knowing if I'll make it through the night like so many others in the world.

I am thankful for everyone that has made me laugh because I love to laugh. I am thankful to have a normal life. I am thankful for so much and I feel like thanksgiving should not be the only time to realize what I have.

I'm very thankful for the past 17 years of life i have been given. I'm thankful for everyone who's been in them with me, and hasn't left my side. I'm thankful that every year i get to see all my family and enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner with them. Not everyone can experience being with their family on holidays or even having a thanksgiving meal. I would never take it for granted and it's something I'm very thankful for. I'm thankful for all the support and love from my family. Family is something I'm extremely thankful for and i wouldn't trade it for the world.

I am thankful for my family. My mom who does everything under the sun for me, which I definitely take for granted. My dad who taught me education is everything and pounded it into my head until I understood. My sister who taught me to never be anyone but myself. Having a roof over my head and a warm meal under my nose every night. Having friends who will stay up all night and talk with me if needed. My beloved dogs that cheer me up almost instantly with just a wag of a tail. Going to Chicago because I now know where I want to live some day. I'm also thankful for being the type of person to stick up for anyone if needed. Being able to laugh until I cry. Having such a warm heart whem it comes to helping animals & loving them!
I'm also thankful for winter and fall (favorite seasons). Chinese food and the sound of rain on the roof tops. Music and dance. Nature and just the little things. Loving to read amd write. Bonfire's and thunderstorms. I'm thankful for today and being true to myself.

I am also grateful for the fact that my friends are always there for me no matter what I do. I have to say a big thanks to my mother because of how much she's been through and taught me. I love her and respect her so much. I take her for granted all the time and I never realize it until its too late. I am thankful for my grandparents. Who let me live with them. They take care of me and make sure I get everything I need. I dont usually express my gratitude. But in thanks giving I make sure I do. I wish I could thank them everyday. Their hospitality has been amazing over these years. I truly am grateful.

I am thankful for my family and friends. My mom and dad mostly because they are the ones that gave me life and with the help of God as well. My niece Roxy and nephew Aiden once I see them they can always make my mood better. My brother and sister. My sister and I might fight a lot, but we still have our fun moments and love each other. I am thankful for my pets my cat and dog. I am thankful for having a roof over my head, food on the table, and clothes on my body. I am also thankful for all the seasons mostly fall and winter that are my favorites. Pizza rolls, and polar pops just are absolutely amazing. I am thankful for my best friend Marissa. She has been there for me whenever I need her the most or whenever I need her advice on something silly. We been through tough times, but also mostly great times. We will always remember that we met in 6th grade and all the memories we have shared together. I know she will always be here for me and I'll do the same for her no matter what. I am mostly thankful for my grandma because she has been through the most in our family and she is very strong and I might not see her as much as I would like because she travels from Ohio in the summer to Florida for the winter. She hasn't been up here in Ohio for Christmas in over 18 years and finally she is coming home for Christmas which was one of my wishes. There are a lot I am thankful for and might not show it much but I am. I'll just will have to show it more often now.

I am most thankful for the family and friends that I have been blessed to have. Without them nothing in this world would be the same, no matter how many material objects I have. I am also thankful for the basic things such as a roof over my head, a good education, and even a job in these hard times. On top of this I am thankful for my faith, because without it I would be lost. There are plenty other things that I am thankful for, but this pretty much summarizes it.

i am thankful for the family i have and the friends that have surrounded me. Both my family friends have the biggest impact on my life and influence me in the best positive way. My friends and family mean everything to me and without them i would not be in the position i am today. They are always there for me when i need someone to talk to or anything i may need. My family always comes first before everything and then friends. Im thankful for many things but these are the most important.

I am thankful for being given people to love and care about, especially those that don't care for me. That is the only point when love is not diluted in any selfish considerations and that is why I am thankful for it. It gives me opportunity to invest in someone else's life and be there for them when they need me. Furthermore, I am thankful for when such people recognize my feeble but steadfast attempts at selflessness and appreciate me for them.

I am thankful for the people in this world that understand me. Without them, I would have no one to talk to. I am thankful for the fact that no matter how long I put things off, I still manage to get them done. Procrastination is a bad quality, but has taught me to work efficiently. I am thankful for the fact that I have music in my life. It gives me many ways to express myself in a way that doesn’t affect others. Finally, I am thankful that I have a place that I can use to escape from the rest of the world.
