Individual

Growing up in the United States provides you with many opportunities to demonstrate your individuality.

For this week's blog, define what it means to be an individual, and then provide an example from your life that illustrates your definition.

When someone is considered an individual, it means that they are unique and cannot be replicated in any way possible. So, from the moment we are born, by definition we are called individuals. Yet the meaning of the word has more correspondence to what a person can do or what their talents are. It can always range from person to person, but everyone has the chance to show something of themselves. In my life, what makes me an individual is not what others may see. I alone am a deep thinker, not to say that no one else is, but I can only think in my own way. This is also what opinions come from, each person's thought process. Since I see things in a different light, I normally go and do things differently than most people. When I feel things, they are different than anyone can describe, only unique to me. Even how I act is different than others. This doesn't bother me anymore, mostly because I embrace the fact that I'm different. This came from the fact that I was made fun of at a young age. People would constantly harass me everyday, and no matter what I did, they kept doing it. Eventually, I had had enough and I learned to defend myself while also learning from the hurt. It showed who my real friends were and what they meant to me.

Being individual means that you are unique and that there is no other 'you'. You stand up for what you believe in, have your own opinions, and your own values. Things that make me an individual are my traits, my values, and my hobbies. I love to play guitar, I think because I am so musically inclined. I like to bowl and draw too. I stand up for things that I believe in, and I am not afraid of what people think of me, because I do things that make ME happy. I value my family, my close friends, and music over anything. I think that the close friends that I have, along with my family, help me to be an individual.

to be an individual now a days means that you don't go by what other say or suggest to do about how to live your life. if someone says something that someone should do they will or they might take it under concideration to use in their life time. now adays to be your self you have to do stuff others wouldn't or just do things you like to do for fun. people do what makes them cool with others. they seek the need of aprovel to everyone except the most important person of all them selvs. they seek the aprovel to fit in with everyone else ecept them selvs.

Being an individual means being unique and different than everyone else. No one else out there is like “you”. Everyone has their own values, dreams, hobbies, and traits. i think it is very important for everyone to be an “individual”. It would not be good if everyone in the world was the same. What makes me an individual is how I dress, the music I listen to, the books I read, and I like playing soccer. I stand up for myself. I used care what people thought of me and to change who I was, but now I don’t care what people think. I am my own person and I like to be different. I encourage others to embrace their individuality.

To be an individual is to have a voice in both your own life and in society to an extent. Being united toward a cause seems like a good concept to strive for, after all it does show unity but when the unity exceeds a certain point, one where the individual is no longer accepted, then freedoms are limited and most opportunities are not embraced. When the individual is limited to the desires of one whole community then equality ensues. The “equality” in this case is not the type of equality that civil rights activists strive for in both our modern world and throughout history but its an altered state of being in which every person is only allowed to be as good as the one next to him. This was shown in the book Anthem by Ayn Rand when the speaker talks of his excessive knowledge and how it was considered a sin for the speaker to use that knowledge. The lack of individuality forced him to try and suppress that knowledge. In my own life, my individuality is portrayed in my love for music and learning instruments. If my individuality was to be suppressed by a council, then i would never learn my own style of playing and even knowing that i was born with a musically inclined mind, would only be able to play songs containing the three or so notes that the least musically inclined people in the world could play to achieve total equality among everyone. Thankfully we do not live in such a society..yet.. and i am free to tai music lessons and strive for new heights in playing without the restrictions of the ability of others.

In today’s society, people often give up their uniqueness to conform with the rest of society. They rather exchange their style, likes and dislikes, and even their personality for those that are considered “normal.” But what really is “normal?” One thing that is true about it is that it is relative and is subject to change with the fads of society. The problem with people wanting to conform is when someone does this they lose their individuality. There is nothing left in them that makes them any different from the rest of society.

To be an individual one must have their own values, stand up for what they believe in, and always be themselves no matter what. They must be content with who they are and change only if they believe that it will benefit them.

Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, “To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.” I believe this quote to be true and I try to follow it every day of my life.

Being an individual is another way to phrase when someone no longer has a strong connection with people that supply to all of their needs. What this means is that although every person that exists is different, only few people can claim themselves as true individuals. Although it is true that they, and only they have any access of their own actions and thoughts, in early stages of life people are more prone to being shapen the way that the people around them want them to. However, this differs for people that can recognize themselves as individuals that begin to do things in accordance with only themselves and pursuing the things they want to on their own. For example, when I was young my dad always wanted me to play baseball because it was instilled in me that it would be my favorite sport. As I've grown up though and discovered more of who I am both physically and mentally, I have transitioned into playing basketball and have developed myself to be good at it.

To be an individual means that even if you have an identical twin standing next to you, you each have the choice on what you want to do. Everyone has the choice to go down whatever path pleases them in life, so long as it doesn't suppress another person's right to be an individual. There are many options in life that can be taken, and it is a person's choice on which route they take, and to pick the goals that they have in life. In my life, i consider myself to be an individual. The things I do and the choices I make on a daily basis are what defines me as me. I love to run cross country, as some other people like to do. But, when track season rolls around, I prefer to throw Discus, weight, and Hammer. This is a very odd thing, for distance runners are supposed to not make good throwers (according to the throwing community). I like knowing that I am different from almost everyone I see because not many people would choose the same paths that I have chosen in my life. And that is what makes me an individual.

The Definition of the word Individual is a single human being as distinct from a group, class, or family. The world today doesn't allow young people to be individuals, a person is judged by one another no matter what they do. Individuality is a large factor in peoples lives. It is how people express themselves. If one is being judged they cannot be who they truly are. I am an individual because I believe what I want to believe. I like to be myself around everyone and I do not try to act different to impress anyone. I am outgoing, loud and funny. I do what pleases me rather than what pleases others. Being is an individual is what makes you, you. One should do what they want and they should not care what others think about it. Its what makes them unique.

To be an individual means that you do not follow others and you have the confidence I yourself to make your own decisions. You can form your own beliefs and don't rely of others the pull you through life. Being a individual means that you have your own unique style of thinking. Think about Steve Jobs or Bill Gates or other famous businessmen. Do you think they would have been as successful as they had become if they had followed the group? No, they had to be creative and take risks and be leaders instead of following the group. To be successful, you must be a strong individual that can do what you think is right no matter what other people say.

In my opinion, being an individual means doing what you want to do no matter what anybody says. I've been an individual from the start. I always think about myself and what i want to do. This means from I wear, to what i listen to, to what i want to do with my life. for example, i've always felt that i couldn't be generalized into one catergory because of all my interests. being an individual means loving who you are and i do exactly that. - wiley 3rd period.

I consider an individual to be two things: Unique, and self-confident. Everyone is unique, that's just a known fact, but that doesn't mean they're an individual. You also need to be self-confident, meaning they aren't afraid to be themselves, and be just as unique as they really are. It seems that, in our civilization, people struggle to be more and more like their peers. They want to be cool, they want to be popular, like those kids over there. Like being the key word. It seems that no one wants to be unique anymore. Everyone just wants to celebrate their common traits, rather than what defines them as 'unique'.

To me, being an individual means being myself. Because of this, I try to stay true to myself and my personal interests, rather than what others may want me to do. For example, I try to choose my clothes, shoes, etc. according to what I like. That doesn't mean I'm completely oblivious to the opinions of others, but I try to remember who I'm buying the clothes for. In those terms, maybe I'm not an individual, because I listen to people's opinions rather than immediately dismissing them. I let people in my life influence me, hopefully for the better. In those terms, it makes me wonder if the only way to truly be an individual, is to be alone.

When a person is considered an individual, they are unique and are unlike any one you have seen before. They aspire to be themselves and that is all they want out of life is to be who they are meant to be. I have always believed that individuality is very important because what's the point of freedom if you aren't allowing yourself any freedom of being you. Well in my life I have always been the most unique individual in my house. I always did things in my own ways and in my own time. One example of this was when I was in Nashville this past summer. I had a really important grad party to go to and my grandma suggested that I just stay home if it's that important to me. Instead, I booked a flight for the morning of the grad party. That is something no one in my family would have ever done. I stepped out of my families comfort zone and was an individual.

Being an individual means to break the mold and be your own unique person. To be an individual is to have the mindset of being different and not caring what other do. A leader is more of an individual compared to its followers.
An example from my life that demonstrates my definition would be one from my childhood. Growing up I was a Girl Scout and was constantly told to work together as a team but I was always the random girl in the troop. One year when my troop went camping everybody wanted to sleep in the cabin but instead I chose to sleep outside under the stars. I chose to be different than everybody else and go my own way doing my own thing. That set up a sort of tradition for me and every year after that more and more girls decided to sleep outside along side of me.

To me, being an individual means you do what you want to do regardless what everyone thinks. Everyone has the right to be an individual and think their own thoughts. There were a lot of situations in my life so far that have given me the opportunity to "jump on the bandwagon" and do what everyone else is doing, but I chose to be myself. Once there was a time (I won't go into too much detail) where I was provided with the choice of morally doing the right thing or betraying my friends, and I chose to do the morally correct thing. I am a person who sticks with their values and morals. I won't do anything just because certain individuals want me to; I will be myself and make my own decisions.

To be an individual means that you have to be yourself and you are unique in your own way. No one can tell you how to live your life or and you do things that not everybody else does. Being and individual means that you stand up for what you believe in and you don't take anyone else's crap. Things that make me an individual is my personality and the way I do things. I'm a shy but very outgoing person at the same time. It all depends on the situation that I am in. I also handle things differently then other people. When someone does something to anger me, I just ignore it and move on.

Being an individual means to be different from everyone and everything else. It means that there is only one of you, one with the same thoughts, skills, special abilities, etc. In my life I have always been an individual because of where I am from. I was born in Ukraine and came to America when i was 3 years old. When i was younger people would call me a terrorist and other awful things just because i was not born here. i was told to go back to my country countless times. I've worked so hard for my whole life here to prove all of them wrong. I speak three languages and understand even more than just those three. I've had the pleasure of experiencing two totally different worlds in just my eighteen years of life. All of the things that happened in the past, the prejudice against me all because i am not an american made me who i am today. i stand up for what i believe to be right and do not let people talk down to me, no matter who they are. My real friends and family know of everything that has happened to me and they have stood by my side and helped shape who i've become as well. An individual is someone like you, me and everyone else. we are all individuals from the moment we are born. No two people are the same.

Being an individual means that there is no one else in this world that is exactly like you. You are the only person that has a certain skill set, or certain physical traits. In my life I've always prided myself on being different. You should never let others influence you on what happens in your life. You can make your own decisions in life based on how you feel, not what others want. As many times as I've been doubted I always stand up for what I believe is right. Never allow others to keep you from doing what you want in life.

Being an individual means to be unique or different from another person. An example of individual would be my sister and I. We are very different people, yet we are related. My life consistes of swimming, and her life consists of band. We are both into very different things that make us an individual. We are also different in personality. My sister is very outgoing and has a strong and stubborn personality. I am very shy and quite. Being an individual is something that makes up that person that makes them who they are.

Being an individual means that you are unique and different from everyone else, in other words it’s saying that this is no other “you”. Each individual has their own opinions, beliefs, interests, morals, and so on. Being an individual is basically just being alive because there are no two people that are exactly the same. For example, I am a very opinionated person. If I think that something is morally wrong or that someone is being unreasonable, I let them know. I’m not one to just keep quite and go on with my life. I’ve spoken up before when I was in class. There were two students and they were making fun of Jewish people. I told them that they should be more careful with what they say in school because they’re could’ve been someone that was Jewish in our class. I also told them that it was very ignorant and rude to trash talk a group of people in public so loudly and obnoxiously. It may have made me seem rude or unpleasant at the time, but I was expressing myself and being my own individual.

Being an individual is defining that you are you. By that statement means that no one and i mean no one can copy you. You are original. You can not be replaced, copied etc. In our generation today, many try to be like celebrities and or other people. You were born an original, don't die as a copy of some one else.

Being individual is like becoming different than what other people would follow. Eventually, more people would have creative minds and express emotions more then people acting the same and be boring. Every person has a free will of power to do whatever they chose to believe. Life itself had made people's personalities much like a fraction as a whole. Think of a relationship that people are in right now. What do you think you see? A relationship had not only make yourself happy, but better yet would try to find a perfect match. What I believe that set myself apart from other is: the goal I plan to achieve in life, the affect of my opinions given toward another, finally is self reliance and the motivation of oneself to make a difference. For what I believe as being a individual is making my own decision to have my life more meaniful and worth to live for the fullest. Not to listen of other person preaching, nor follow that person in general. This is more of an adventure of finding who you truly are and what make you so much different from one another.

To be an individual means to be your own person and do whatever is appealing to oneself. To not follow the pack, but to make your own one. What makes me an individual is the things I do every day, I like to get a good workout, swim, and be with my friends. I like to do what I want to do without the worry about being judged. If everyone was the same, this world would be very boring.

To be an individual means to be your own person and to not always go with the flow with what everyone else does. Being individual means to be unique so there's "no one else like you." An example of being individual in my life would be with my family. My family is full of people that all think the same and sometimes even act the same. I'm one of the few people in that group that speaks their mind, different to the way that everyone else thinks about. I don't always go with how every one else thinks or acts about certain things. I like to go against what some people might do, in areas where others won't.

The world seems like a cruel place through a small population of societies eyes. I feel like I am one of those people. We are all taught to act a certain way and to be a certain person. We are shown what it is to be successful and what it looks like to not be successful. We have seen the ups and downs of life. To be an individual is to not listen to what others want you to be, to not go along with a crowd. It is to have distinct characteristics and a outgoing personality through your own eyes. People are so worried about being what society wants them to be and not what they want to be because they are focused on not being judged by their surroundings. I feel one thing that makes me a individual is the way I look at life. I live for the moment and do the things I love even if its not what others think is right. I love and cherish the little things. I don't want to live a regular life, I don't want to find a job based of money, I don't want to be what others want me to be. I want to be different. If people don't agree with my decisions then thats their choice and I am just fine without them. You only get to live a full life once so I am doing it my way.

Individuality is when someone chooses to stay true to them self regardless of what others think. To stand up for what you think is right, rather it be sexuality, identity and religion. And for me, it's my identity as being a poster child when I was younger. Being put up on a pedestal in an all christian family has put a damper on me, since I am always expected to be an example to others in my everyday relationships and life. And that if my family were to know most of the things I've done in my life time it'd probably bring them to tears, but I can no longer worry about that. And as horrible as it may sound, I no longer care.
I have to care more about myself than others, I have to be selfish. Because I am only human and I have to live my life for me, not for others. Because what's a life when it's lived for others? It's not one at all.

To be an individual, it means that you are able to have your own thoughts and feelings. You and you alone control your actions, and how you react to things. Being independent is the ability to rely on yourself and yourself alone to complete tasks. While at some points, one may need help, they should be able to be independent and get the help they need one their own. By saying that you are an independent person is saying that you make your life what it is and that only you have the will power to change your life, to succeed, to fail, to thrive, or to fall, blaming no one but yourself. For myself, my independency shows in how I react to different situations. I know that my reactions aren't always ideal or always proper, but they are mine and mine only. This is what makes me independent because they aren't other peoples reactions or opinions, only my own and mine to own up to. No, I'm not proud of all my reactions to things but it is what makes me who I am and I accept that.

Individuality is very important to today's society because it help us express who we really are. We as a country have fought hard and lost many lives in order to to be able to express our true self. The reason we don't like communism is because it says that we must be the same and act the same for the better of the country. America as a whole does not like that idea because we value the principle of being able to make our own choices. To be able to make your own choice is liberating in it's self, and it gives me the feeling of i can do what i want. I express my self through my music and what i listen to. I don't follow the crowed and listen to pop music, i am more of a mettle and rock guy. This is how i choose to express my self and no one can take that a way from me and it gives me a seance of freedom.

To be an individual, one needs to feel and think for themselves, to not have the same attitude as the majority. This is becoming increasingly difficult in today's society. The majority of people might act a certain way, and to be an individual means seeing that attitude, that way of life, and choosing whether or not to follow it.

I had a conversation with my dad a while ago about something very similar. We were talking about how society has come to adopt an attitude of rebelliousness, at least in my generation. People want to rebel, or 'stick it to the man.' This might be a good thing for individuality, except that it became so popular to rebel, that the majority was "rebelling." Thus, the only way to rebel against the "rebellion" was to conform to whatever attitude was before. In this way, individuality dissolves a bit. For me to be an individual means choosing your own life, making your own decisions. Whether that's conforming to the social norm of society, or being completely different, either way still represents individuality, as long as it's not chosen just to be like another person.

In my eyes, to be an individual means that one must be themselves unconditionally. They'd have to do whatever feeds their happiness despite what everybody else is doing. Being an individual means to live authentically and freely. Being an individual is somebody who stands up and says "screw what society thinks, i'm going to be me and be happy." An individual is somebody who has their own thoughts, desires, beliefs, fears, worries, ect. An individual knows who they are. They know what they've gone through, they know their ideas and they know what they want in life. There was a time in my life when all i wanted was to belong. I wanted to be popular and fit in. I then realized that spending life trying to fit in is not a great way to spend it. I then chose to become my own person and since then i never really cared much about fitting in.

Being an individual means standing out from the common norm. Individuals are very important people in a society because of their ability to promote change. They possess a certain courage which is the main reason they clearly stand out from the majority. Being an individual means showing your true colors, and what you believe in, for all to see, which is the reason there are good and bad individuals. A time where I have shown individuality in my life is when I decided I wanted to run track. My friends all played football and never would even consider to run, but it was what I honestly wanted to do. So I went into the unknown by myself and had, and still do, a great time running track with all the other people I have met in my experience. Individuality is a blessing and should never not be taken advantage of. If you ever have a reason great enough to stand up for, don't loose courage and never look back.

As a United States citizen, I would say that one of the most important freedoms that we as Americans have is our freedom of expression. We are allowed to be the type of person that we want to be. To be an individual is for one to be their own person. An individual is very unique, more unique than anything else in this world. Individuals don't "follow" crowds. Since individuals are unique, they do their own thing. People do their own things to express their individualism. Music, clothing and hobbies are big ways to show off an individual, because I know that's how I express my values and interests. I like hip-hop music because it can typically help teenagers relate situations to their everyday life. I wear the clothes that I do not because they'd be necessarily "in style", but because of my individualism and that is what I am in to. I'm a very big sports fan, which is probably the biggest giveaway to others as to what kind of person that I am. My friends and I, we do our own thing. We're unique, ambitious, and we don't do anything mainstream. That is honestly, what makes people unique. People who are typically against the norm and do their own thing. People who aren't afraid to give any thought as to what others think of them.

Having individuality is one of the most important things in life. Being an individual in simplest terms, means to be yourself. If you want to be individual, you can't be afraid to be different, and maybe even stand alone. Even if your views are as radical as can be, stand behind them and support your own views cause they're just that, yours. Growing up its never been that hard being an individual cause even my friends, and friend group as a whole, has always done our own thing and never worried to much about what others think of us and what we stand for. Too many people follow mainstream ideas and trends just so they can be like everyone else and fit it, and thats where they lose their individuality. While on the other hand, I'm happy with who i am and what i believe in and don't feel i should change for anything. Individuality is actually a very important topic to me and i pride in myself for never being afraid to be myself and stick out from the usual crowd. Im just that, unusual, but where do you draw the line between usual and unusual? Acceptation should not be a concern for someone while thinking of individuality, cause the reality is that some people will not accept you, but others will and it will show who truly likes you for you. The music i listen to sets an example of my individuality due to how different some of it is. I don't listen to music cause its popular, but rather cause its what i enjoy and it doesn't matter if anyone else does, thats being an individual. Even the clothes i wear and the way i style my hair shows how I'm an individual and i pay no attention to peoples negative feedback because i don't dress the way i do for anyone else other than myself, cause i like a certain style and i think it fits me well. Individuality should naturally flow through a person and shouldn't be something forced, because being an individual simply means to be yourself.

individuality means that someone is against the normal routine. it means that you do what you want and not what everyone else is doing. Being an individual means that you are being yourself. Individuality is good for people because it shows differences between people which is good.
I for one like to bowl and like star wars and not many people do, so i possess some individuality. people describe those with individuality as "unique". these people do not need the approval of others based on their appearance and such.

Being an individual in today's society can often be a very difficult task. The reason being is that we are sometimes grouped up and just made a number. It takes a real trooper to stand out and make themselves more than just a number. Being an individual means making yourself noticed and accomplish things others cannot.
An example from my life showing individuality would be winning my first JTBA (Junior Tournament Bowler's Association) tournament about a month back. Driving all the way out to Dayton by myself and competing in a bowling tournament that lasted from nine A.M. until five-thirty P.M. showed some kind of individuality and responsibility as well. Most of the time I would have my dad their alongside to help me out and tell me what is what but he could not make it that day. I went through 5 games of qualifying and 4 rounds of match play against 3 college bowlers and one of my team mates to make myself stand out in the crowd and be an individual; more than a number.

An individual is made through the different experiences they face in their life, which make a person unique. Life experiences help shape a person into who they are by helping them to establish their own interests, beliefs, and goals. Our parents' DNA is combined in unique ways to create a new individual. Each person's brain, body, and thoughts are different, down to a chemical and atomic level. No one person is the same which makes us all individuals. However, we are all the same because we are all individual, unique beings. The combination of my personal experiences, views, and interests help to define me in a way that's different from others. For example, I'm a quiet and shy person around people I don't know but I tend to be more open and goofy when I'm with my friends or family. I love science, nature, and learning how things work. I express myself through my art and the music I listen to. I'm passionate about the World and finding ways to help it. Being an individual just means that you are able to express yourself however you may want to because the one person who has control of your body is yourself. This sense of individuality cannot be denied or taken away from anyone. It's simply a part of being human.

According to wikipedia.com, the definition of individuality is, "the state or quality of being an individual; particularly of being a person separate from other persons and possessing his or her own needs or goals." I completely agree with this. Individuality, in my opinion, is the freedom of expressing yourself in every way possible. It's saying exactly what's on your mind, and acting out how you feel. Individuality encompasses all of the characteristics that makes someone unique and unlike anyone else. A personal example that expresses my own individuality comes from my friends' joking about my running ability. I'm definitely not the fastest runner and my arms and legs are pretty lengthy and skinny, so my friends have called me a "sloth" for as long as I can remember. This is my trademark to them, something that makes me, "me."

To me being an individual is someone who can stand on their own and define themselves as one person. Though I believe individualism is a lie. We are all social creatures and we all exist for one another, not for ourselves. We may think that we are doing is what we want to do but our decision to do so is influenced by others around us. Everything we do as person is for something better than ourselves. We choose to do things because our society as a whole agrees that it is either a good or bad decision. Humans thrive off of the criticism of others and this is why we react and define ourselves. The reason why I have come to this conclusion is because of the resent passing of my grandma. I witnessed the reaction of my family and how my grandpa was acting and I found that all of the good that she had done in her life wasn’t for money or for herself, it was for her family. Yes, sure as an individual she was amazing, but existence is not just within her physical body, but also in the hearts and minds of others. The reason why we love is to create a legacy for others to remember us by. It is because of this that we live, not because we care about personal gain. It is to know that all of the work we put into our life is paying off by watching our loved ones grow and love again in turn. This shows that the individual is determined by society and those around them. If you don’t care what people think about you then why bother doing all of the things to set them further ahead in life. It isn’t about the “self” it is about the “everyone”. This is the individual. The individual of the whole.

Grandma I love you forever and always your first grandchild and loving family member.

Being an individual means you are one of a kind, you're unique and no one can match that. When someone calls you different don't be discouraged from that, be happy for yourself. Being an individual means you believe yourself. You have your own beliefs, your own relegion, your own views on the world. I believe I'm an individual because of the goal I set for myself. I want to be the best fisherman possible and win a lot of tournaments. I would also like to market my fishing business to the entire country. If I were to listen to someone else they may try to lead me down another path. I have faith in myself and know I will have success in what I want to become.

Being an individual means that you are like no one else. It means being unique and different. Today, society says we are supposed to be different. They want us to be an individual but that is not the truth. The truth is people judge. When we someone that is being themselves and is acting or looking different we judge. Evan in my life is know what that means. I cannot say my r’s. I was always worried about what people would think and how they would judge but then learn that it does not matter what they think. I decided that not being able to say my r’s made my different and now I laugh with the people. Being an individual is being stronger than the people around you to show that them what they think does not matter.

Indvidual, a word with great meaning beyond what the human eye can see. So many people walk this planet constantly. So quick to judge we can be. To be an individual is a hard thing to do in todays society, with all the distraction that drift around it becomes overwhelming. Highschool is one place that indiviiduality comes and goes quiet often. People claiming they are independent and that others dont influence them yet in the halls its easy to see some hide her innerself just because they dont want to be seen as 'wierd'or 'different'. Truly however I believe that to be an inividual means to not be afraid o being different. Everyone beomes self concious at times which leads to the destuction of an individual.

To me being an individual means that you live your life by your own values and ideas. You do not do things just because everyone else is doing them or what would be considered normal. Sometimes being an individual makes you stand out and be different. Everyone is an individual because there are no two people exactly alike. People can experience the exact same thing but still react very differently. Part of what makes me an individual is that I will always stand up for what I believe in. I am stubborn in my beliefs which helps me to be strong as an individual.

The definition of an individual is “a single human being as distinct from a group, class, or family” (Dictionary). Which means that no matter what group they are a part of, or who they associate with, they stand out because they are unique and have different characteristics than others in the group. What makes me an individual, one of the things I’m most known for, is that I’m taller than the average female. I have been tall my whole life, and that is one of the major things that makes me unique. Also, a lot of people who are stressed or just want to take a break tend to look to music or books to take them to their happy place. I on the other hand, look to painting. I believe that I am artistically inclined so I put my skills to use. There may be some characteristics that are similar throughout many people, but doing what makes that individual happy is what brings out their individuality. Not only can they create their own path to life, but they can share ideas and show the world new things that could benefit everyone.

Being an individual is a crucial part of actually living a rich and successful life. You need to be able to find out who you are before you ever do anything in your life. Being an individual means to me that you separate yourself from others and stick out as someone who is different from anyone else. I know for a fact I am an individual, I know this because I am loved by many, and it’s not just cause I’m adorable, it’s because I am a strong and confident individual. Nobody can live their life happy knowing they aren’t and individual it is what makes a person whole in my mind. Living in America will give me an infinite amount of opportunities. Businesses need people who are different that way they can sell their product, the person has to be different and likeable for sure and I guarantee I will give myself this opportunity due to the individual I have become.

In my opinion, I think being an individual is to have your own thoughts and to have your own personality and opinions. I know I am an ivdividuwl because I share my own opinions and thoughts every day. I don't always agree with people because of this. Everyone believes different things and thinks differently. I believe this is what makes me and everyone else a individual.

Being an individual means not following the footsteps of others, and making your own path and choices. My mom helps a lot with this. She lets me do just about anything, and is supportive of it, and makes it very known when she isn't. She try's to be very expressive and have me be the same. She makes me make my own choices, but keeps her opinions to herself so she doesn't influence my decisions. She's helped me a lot by teaching me that it doesn't matter what other people say or think about what I do or am like, but that it only matters what i think because I'm the only one that has to live with myself. I think sometimes though her teaching me to be myself has it's downsides. She doesn't have any sort of filter, and just says what she thinks without thinking about it, it's rubbed off on me, and I've made a lot of people really mad at times for it. But when I tell her a story about that Happening, we both laugh because we know it's how each other is, and that we don't get upset when these things happen because it's just who we are. But at the same time, we're incredibly different people. I think being individual is having you're own path, but at that same time, walking with someone on that path, even when you both have your own.

being an individual is such a great thing. being unique and just different from everybody else is amazing. i can relate to being an individual simply because well i never wanted to become to jock or popular kid and be such a fake person. why not show your true self to everybody instead of pretending. being different is one of the things i actually enjoy. why would you ever want everybody to be the same, honestly that would be awful. everybody has their own special skills and talent. when you show your true side instead of pretending i feel as if you are such a happier person as well. i hate it when people conform to everybody else. i love meeting new and unique people. it keeps this world interesting. i could probably explain this much better in person but hopefully you got the point

Being individual means that there is no one like you. There is only one of your kind, one of a kind. The first thing about being individual is believing in yourself. you got to stand up for what you8 believe in and have a mind set that wont change. I use to care about what people thought about me but I found out that everyone is going to judge you either way so do what you want and make yourself happy.

Being an Individual Means being a person who acts in the way they want to and is not bound by the sad rules of society, live life fulfilling goals for their self-esteem. These people do not conform to the 'masses' An individual has their 'own' mind and seeks enlightenment through completing personal tasks set by themselves and are not influenced by someone else's opinion simply because they are 'popular'. I do this everyday. I never care hat people think about me. I always stick to my convictions and never let anyone else change my opinion. I also always act myself around other people. I never act as someone I am not. From what I wear to what I do as a hobby, I never really have to put aside any worries about what other people are thinking because I already am in that established mindset. I do what I want to do for myself, not so the kids in your school think i'm cool or that I stand out in some way.

Being individual means that you are the only person in the world to think and believe the only way that you do. There is only one of you on the planet, as well as in the history of life. Being an individual is doing and saying what you truly believe in and not following what others believe in. Individuality is freedom being lived. Only that one person will ever be in control of their own lives and how they view certain topics. Individualism in my life is shown by my desire to be the best and most hard working athlete possible. My drive and passion for the sport that i love is unlike anyone elses and i hold that very close to myself and thats what makes myself, me. You are born an original, you should not live and die trying to be someone you are not.
