Books, books and more books!!!!

To begin with, hello to Ashley in Wooster. Feel free to continue to blog with us. I hope all is well. To those who like to criticize Mrs. Perrin on the blog, please find a new hobby.

My daughter made fun of me this past summer because I constantly had a book in my hand. She called me an addict. I am addicted to reading. Everywhere I go, I have something to read. The summer is the time when I read all of the books I have been waiting for during the school year. I try to pick a book that is considered by the academy as academically sound and then I fill the rest of the reading time with what I want.

How do you pick what to read? Do you only read what the teachers dictate? Do you pick because your friends recommend a book to you? Or do you read the backs of books to find what would interest you?

My favorite book is Atlas Shrugged and I love it because it makes me think about my place in the world and the role of "the mind" in the way society flourishes or fails.

Synopsis--from Barnes and Noble

"Who is John Galt?" is the immortal question posed at the beginning of Ayn Rand's masterpiece. The answer is the astonishing story of a man who said he would stop the motor of the world—and did. As passionate as it is profound, Atlas Shrugged is one of the most influential novels of our time. In it, Rand dramatizes the main tenets of Objectivism, her philosophy of rational selfishness. She explores the ramifications of her radical thinking in a world that penalizes human intelligence and integrity. Part mystery, part thriller, part philosophical inquiry, part volatile love affair, Atlas Shrugged is the book that confirmed Ayn Rand as one of the most popular novelist and most respected thinkers of the 20th century.

Write about your favorite book and why? What does it make you think about, dream about, or what action does it make you want to take?

Ashley woo! Hey! Our square 'o' desk's is at times lonely without you, hope your having a good time in the big W. Right, books. My mother, being the good mom she is, always encourages me to read, it "stimulates the mind" according to her. I honestly enjoy reading, to me it's something to just get lost into, and i love getting lost into stuff, and just going into a whole nother world. Many of the books i read are recommended to me by my cousin, mom, dad, sister, friends, etc. But other times i do just skim the library for books, and see what they seem like, or i often look for books by the same author of previous books i read and enjoyed. The only problem with me and reading, is that i always get involved into too many books, and i confuse myself, or i begin a book, and then don't have time to read it, so don't get into it, and just stop reading it. Although many of my friends would make-fun of me for it, i actually do like reading. Bookworms unite!

Id have to say my favorite book (or books) would be the Eragon series. I like books in the medival time setting. I love the cool action scenes and the epic battles. But i also like how they dont have any economic,or energy crises. The only fuel they need to worry about is hay for the horses. I like Eargon because it is a kid my age who gains this massive influence and power. The only down side to it was the supposed "final" book turned out to be the second to last boopk, I was so mad when i found that out. The trilogy has turned into a cycle. now i have to wait like three years for the next one. well later. Perkins

I have many favorite books. I love to read. One of my favorite books are the Harry Potter series. They are action packed, and suspenseful. I also love the Lord of the Rings books, along with the hobbit because i have seen all of the movies, and both are good. I also love the Percy Jackson books about Greek Mythology in real life, and the Bartimaous trilogy, those are some really great books that anyone should read.

My favorite book is The River Between Us by Richard Peck. I wish I had more time to read because I have not read a book in a very long time. The River Between Us is a historical fiction during the civil war. This book makes me feel like barriers do not have to stop you in life. Much like the main character in the book has to go through.

wow, my favorite book, umm that is a really hard question because i have so many books that i absolutely adore.I change my favorites with my moods, right now i would probably have to say The Hobbit. i really like The Hobbit because tolkien's writing is so descriptive that you can completely picture what is going on in the book and the way he writes is just an awesome style. I also like that there are poems in it and it is very action packed. There is always something happening in the book and i love that it is like that. My other favorite book is Ella Enchanted, i am a sucker for fairytales. Sometimes i just like the simple writing, where it lays the story out plain as day and it just makes you smile because it is just so dang cute. Another reason i like this book is that Ella's character isn't the damsel in distress character. i absolutely loathe those type of character's who are good for nothing and have just a pretty face. i love books so much. my friends and i will get together and spend at least two hours just talking about the books we just read, that we want to read, discussing the characters and plot. Yes i do hang out with a bunch of nerds, but you are just jealous. Well i'm done.....for now!!

My favorite book is the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paoline. The movie Eragon was based off his first novel Eragon. I have read his first three books in the series; Eragon, Eldest, and Brisingr. These are very good books about suspense and adventure. It almost makes me think of harry potter because of the magic involved but it is so different than that. Dreams... well, I had this weird one this one time... I don't want to talk about it... And as for action, I would love to find a dragon egg that has mysteriously appeared in the Spine while I would be out hunting for food, and then later ride it about and cast spells and all that fun stuff involved with being a Rider.

My cousin has forever been nagging me to read a book called The Vellum, which I have failed to do yet, but I'm planning on it. That's basically how I read most the books I do, people suggest them to me. Or, I will skim the library shelves for something with a good title or a cool picture, then I'll read the back. I love to read, and I've read many books, but I'd still have to say that my favorite is the Twilight series. Which in a way I do hate. I hate how popular it has become. I hate how I can no longer be proud to say I love the books without being stereotyped with the annoying, Twilight moving-loving, Robert Pattinson-obsessing preppy girls that I want to hit with a dictionary. I hate what that God awful movie has done to the novels. But, I do love the books, I guess you could call them my guilty pleasures or something, and those also were suggested to me by my cousin, in the seventh grade, when I read them.

Reading, reading, reading. That's what encouraged me to take honors english in the first place, all of the reading. (My teachers and school librarians had aleays told me I was a good reader.)Well I'd have to say that Wuthering Heights is probably one of my favorite um "classic" novels along with to Kill A Mockingbird. But Id definitely have to say that the Harry Potter books were what got me interested in English and reading. This was probably because at the time when I read the first one I couldn't believe that words could actually be fun to read. Books take me into another world where I'd rather deal with characters' crazy problems than my own.(boring ones.)

whoops. didn't notice we were supposed to write about our favorite book. lol, my bad. i have a lot of books that i have thoroughly enjoyed over the years, but i must say my favorite was a series called "Pendragon" it was about this boy that had the power to jump to different worlds, because he had to save the universe from someone i would compare to as the anti-christ. only his two best friends new about it, so he wrote them journals of his adventures and travels. i think i liked it so much because the kid was my age, and i liked the way the author wrote. it made me sometimes believe there are other places than just planet earth were things may be. i still do believe it. and yet again, we part...in such sweet sorrow.

MY favorite books of all time would definitly have to be the fourth Twilight book, Breaking Dawn. I love all the Twilight books. I love how Stephanie Meyers writes and how she describes everything so complete. She never leaves anything out and she paints the picture of what is going on directly in text. The books make me think about my fantasy world. Basically about how I would react to everything that Bella and Edward are going through. I feel like I have experienced what is going on, just like she is, because I have read the books so many times. I have read the books (all four of them) 3 times and I really want to read the fourth one again. Just talking about them makes me excited. You guys know what I was doing over Christmas break =)

HI,
I am a constant reader. I read everything anywhere. However, my favorite types of books are fantasy. I think the reason why I like these books so much is because I can escape into a world and be free of all my troubles here on earth. It is difficult for me to choose a book that I love the most, because I love so many. I am open to new books, old books and almost any genre.
During the summer is when I read the most because I can relax and enjoy the sun while reading. Don't try to talk to me when i am in the middle of a good book, because I won't answer you. I will only be focusing on what I am reading.
What I don't like about school books, is the pressure of reading. I like to read things at my own pace and understand the text in my own way. Sometimes, when an entire class is reading the same thing, I feel a tiny supressed.
Reading is one of the things I enjoy to do in my spare time. I like how we are free to write about whatever we like. I love reading about vampires and wizards. Any good reader would know what two book series I am talking about.

Ah reading. To be honest, I love to read.I have so many books I like and Mrs. Connolly always tells me which books I should read. As of now, I have loved all the ones she has encouraged me to read. My friends usually pick amazing books for me too. As for picking books, if I'm in the library I will skim through it, if I see a common author or title I'll get it. If not, I will find something that looks interesting and read it. I read alot in the summer too. I usually don't have much time in the school year to read because of school and sports. Occasionally i do get a chance to read during the year. other than what we are assigned by teachers. When I read, its like I'm oblivious to the world around me because I become trapped in the reading and its like I'm actually in the book. I love it! My favorite book would probably have to be Hary Potter series. I love them and have loved them since I started reading them in third grade. I have read each of them numerous times and they never get old! I love how action packed, suspensful, and mysterical (is that a word??) and everything they are. They make your imagination soar!! And the books are WAY better than the movie because they go into like a million times more details and don't skip parts.
I LOVE HARRY POTTER FOREVER!! <3

wow I do enjoy reading =)

I've picked up this awesome book last week (and I finished it in like... a day XD) called "Gods Behaving Badly" and it is a pretty good read.
Sharp, sweet and oddly full of smut >.>

I guess my favorite books are normally full of sarcasm and biting wit and are most likely found in the fiction section :3

I guess the best thing about reading is just leaving your world even for a moment and just going into something totally different. Reading for the sake of reading I think is one of the few things you do just for the sake of that's actually alright. If you pick up a good enough book it gets your mind working and starts you thinking. I dunno reading is just a big blasty blast.

My favorite book in general I think would be either the Blue is for Nightmares series or my Brother's Grimm fairy tale book... yeah I think that's about it =3

I love to read books. I'm not really sure how I pick what I read. Sometimes it's the cover with an interesting picture that catches my eye...or it's the fact that the prologue makes me feel like I need to continue. Reading leads to a whole new different world. It makes you feel like a different person, feeling what the authors have to feel and how the characters in the book experinece new and strange ways. My favorite book has to be The Naming by Alison Croggon. I read that book so many times because I really liked it. It takes the reader into a world like the middle ages, but people have magic. I like this book because it is a mix of reality and fantasy. I like books that are magical and have to do with fantasy because sometimes we just need a break from reality. This book makes me think about how hard and difficult it must of been in the older days, especially for women. It also makes me think of the Salem Witch Trials a little bit because the bards (magic people) became corrupted and the people started to rebel and some even started to hunt them. I also like this book because there are a lot of strange and unexpected twists.

My favorite book is twilight. It only took me five days to read this book. I am a really slow reader and a book that size would normally take like a month or two. Soo many people have read this book and i wouldnt be suprised to see alot of people name this book. I have seen so many people get into this book and movie and i thought it was rediculous. I kinda wanted to read it, but didint want to just read it because everyone was. So a couple days before christmas my cousin dropped the book off for me and suggested it. I was amazed by how much i enjoyed such a fictional book. I read the back to see if i would like it And was determained to read it only if it sounded decent.

This is Tyler,

Soooooooo...My favorite book, eh? Well, I would have to go with an old time favorite. It is called Little Nina. It is about how little nina gets ready for bed and goes to sleep. However, last year I wanted to do a book report for it and my teacher told me it was a childs book. She said that I needed to pick a book with at least 5000 words (compared to my book's 27)

Since then I haven't found a new favorite book. However I found a new favorite author. His name is Tom Clancy and he is amazing. I have also read a little bit of Steven King, but he isn't very good at ending his books. Take "The Stand" for instance, it was a good story until "god's hand" came into the story line and saved them all. That made things to fakey for me.

Let me tell you though, I will find myself stuck on a book if it is good enough. However, books are not the only things with stories, if you were to say "What is your favorite story" we are talking about a broader subject. Not all good literiture is in books. Think about it. Some Movies tell a story, Some plays tell a story, sometimes some song lyrics tell a story. Even videogames could tell a good story.

What I am trying to say is that we all should broden our horizons for a better view. Try different types of stories, different authors, different subjects. This could help you as a writer too by trying different stories and authors. I was told that listening to the best variety of bands and listening to more bands is better for song writing and makes your songs sound more original, because listining to only one or two bands makes all your songs influenced by them, making all the songs you write sound like thiers.

So I imagine experiencing different stories and authors might help. It will help like michael kelp. I'm sorry about that. It just rhymed. I don't even think michael kelp is even a real person. Sorry, that was foolish and very toolish. Sorry bout that one too. I don't even think that act was even very foolish at all either. I just kinda made a rhyme, like I do all the time. Okay, now I'm rhyming with out trying, my inner spirit is dying. Whoh, that was very uncalled for, but it looks like I am making some more. Cuz im brusin' muh rhymes, I'm layin' down these lines, cuz I'm brusin' muh rhymes, and I like to eat limes. Sorry, I guess this turned into a song, but I should probably let it go, all day long, I was just on a blog, talkin' bout books, when my left brain busted in, and control it tooks, But now it looks, like I can't think of much, but I can still rhyme, like fur i can still touch, Ask my favorite color, IT IS ORANGE, my favorite type of jelly, MUST BE GRAPE!..........OH NO! I'VE LOST IT! OH MANS...i guess this is the end, the end of my career, the end of my blog, it must be near...

Unknown said...

Hey Ashley, Jacob is right! It's not the same without you! Plus when I'm absent, I end up leaving him by himself. Haha. Back to the blog...I'm not the type of person to just read when I have extra time, unless I know there is a good book out there that I havn't read. I used to be the person in the library searching for a good book, but once I began to have other things to do, that stopped. I usually wait for my friends to recommend a good book to me, and I usually end up loving the book, which is probably because of our similar taste. Very rarely, I end up enjoying a book I have to read for school. When I think of what interests me, it would have to be something that could possibly play into my life. I really enjoyed reading the book Twilight, as most people have. I guess it sort of gave me a different look on vampires, and I wouldn't mind falling in love with one ;) haha. It makes me think about finding someone like Edward, who speaks so smoothly. And I love the idea that he chooses to be with Bella, and Bella chooses to be with him even though any second he could kill her. Another one of my favorite books is Blue is For Nightmares. It's about a 16-year-old girl who uses witch-craft to uncover the meaning behind a reocurring nightmare. This is a book that one of friends recommended to me. I really enjoyed the book because it kind of makes me wonder if witch-craft is real, and if it works. My friend and I did try some of the recipies from the book, which was quite interesting.

First of all I would like to say that for all of you that don't read, why is learning such a bad thing? I have not read "Atlas Shrugged" yet, I intend to but because it is such a big book I am going to wait till summer to read it. When the "Maha Rushie" praises it I know that it is a must read. Don't even think about knocking Rush he is brilliant and he is dead on when he says, "I hope Obama fails." Normally if I am forced to read a book I automatically hate it. I want to read what I want and if it is forced on me I don't want to have anything to do with it.
The way that I pick out my non-fiction books is if I hear it recommended on one the talk shows I listen to, or if it is a New York Times bestseller that I am familiar with. With fiction I love spy-action-war books. Mixed in with the occasional political thriller. Some of my favorite authors are Tom Clancy, Dale Brown, Brad Thor, Vincent Flynn, and a bunch more. I quite often can start a Brad Thor novel Saturday or Sunday morning and finish the book before I go to bed. These are 600+ page books but I let myself get immersed in the story line and once that happens I will read nonstop. Most people that do not like to read either haven't found there genre or just don't get immersed enough to enjoy the book. Yes I agree with allot of others when they say that I wish I had more time to read. Normally I would try to read 1-3 books a week but the heavy homework/studying load kind of makes it impossible. I am now lucky if I can read one every other week! I honestly could not choose one favorite. I have read hundreds of books over my life and I really could not pick one that beat all others.

Reading, i dislike reading. i'm not sure why. i think it's mostly the time it takes up. when people say it takes you to a magical place, that doesn't happen with me usually. Reading makes me sleep. i never figured out that one either. i usually only read when i have to, like for school. my sister loves reading and always tries to make me read all of her favorite books. i never do. my favorite book that i read was esperanza rising, i couldn't book that book down. i girl and her family were stuggling to find food and keep there home, it makes me want to make a difference in someones like that was going through the same thing.

Heck yes! I love books, and I believe that out of my circle of friends I read the most. Sometimes my homework is put aside until I finish a chapter... but let me start by stating my fav. author which is Brain Jacques, he didn't start writting until he had no choice but to retire from a sea man because of old age! Yet he still stole many tears and hearts with books like Mossflower and The Legend of Luke and one of my personal favorites of his, Marlfox. He wrote childern books and is best know for the redwall seris. My faovrite book is really a tie, between Brain Jacques' castaways of The Flying Dutchman and Diana Wynne Jones' (2nd favorite author) Dark Lord of Derkholm. But I think the Dark Lord wins. So in order to build up the eximent, I'll start with the Castaways of the Flying Dutchman. I found this book by browsing Brain Jacques' collections trying to find a new redwall seris that I had not read (redwall is seperate stories in the same location so they go in no particular order for people to read) when I came across a non-redwall book! I gasped! And then I got glued to the story. It's about a poor boy and his dog who are thrown into the plight of a very rough crew. The crew ends up getting turned into ghosts and haunted to sail on the boat for the rest of their life and the angel that cursed them took pity on Ben and his dog and threw them overboarded instead of cursing them. Ben and ned (the dog) end up having the ability to talk to each other and, are granted enteral life, as long as they do good. they never escape the shadow of the flying dutchman as they travel across the world sloving puzzles and helping folk out. :) Now though let me move onto the Dark Lord of Derkholm. I found this one (I'm sorry to say this) by it's cover. I was just going up and down the rows of books and then BAM! My eyes were hit with a black shadow riding on a falcon above soilders trying to shoot it down. I instantly looked at the back and right in big bold letters it said "Mad about Harry? Try Diana." And that's when I got it. I'm not a harry potter fan at all so I was hoping for something good. I was ready for an action-packed time of this dark lord trying to do bad in the world and a revolution and the such but I was so off. It had to do with Mr. Chesney's Pilgrim Parties, what are those you ask? their the chance for tourists (really you find out later people from earth) to travel to this other universe and see adventure. So in other words, a whole world is turned into a jungle for the people to see. A wizard by the name of Derk has to play the Dark Lord and lead his minions into battle agaisnt the Forces of good. so that's the main plot but their are a bunch of problems along the way (like moving livestock, kidnappings and trying to lose in a fight etc.). But the biggest one is getting everyone's cooperation, for nobody wants to play a role in the Pilgim parties but everyone has to so pretty much everyone wants to stop the Parties. The book warps into a huge rat race with not one charcter knowing what's to happen and in the end it's revealed the true nature of why the Parties exist (which made me laugh so hard I read it again and again!).
So I guess what attracts me to books are one: the author I get so touchy that usally I won't read works by women (they somehow always work in a fabulos heroine that I'll just end up hating). But I also am attracted to bed guys! If it don't have a good villain then I'll trash it. It has to have plots within plots within plots within plots, I like trying to forshadow the events. and I love books that have puzzles to slove and songs to sing and the such. :) ~Soon I hope I can add another favorite book to my list! :)

It's tyler...again.

Dear Drummerdude66,cnn (If that is your real name),

You have brought it to my senses that doorhinge rhymes with orange. (well kinda) I wish I would have thought of that at the time, the thing is, last time I checked, doorhinge was not even remotely close to a flavor of Jelly. I now realized I should have used a color that is easier to rhyme with, such as purple or silver. This would be lying of course, but at least I would be able to keep my rhyme goin', keep the river flowin', If my grass grows to long, I'd better be Mowin', I got my magic, back again, My favorite birthday, was when I turned ten, I was just showing this dude, he couldn't help me, It like asking for help, while being chased by a bee, I think I might try it, one more time, it's the one I can't touch, the one I can't rhyme, some people might say, my favorite color's orange, but talk for me, and I'll turn the doorhinge, cuz everyone knows, my fav' is purple and silver, just like that time, when I...or...no...cuz everyone knows, my fav' is SIVER and PURPLE, just like sometimes, when I got to...burple...yeah...that works, unlike a stalker who lurks, cuz his brains got the quirks. OH! Yeah. I am the coolest person I know. Seriously.

I occasionally read, and my favorite book/series is The Rangers Apprentice.
It is a pretty good series full of intense excitement and adventure. It makes me think of how war and fighting was befor there were guns and bombs. It makes want to learn how to use a bow and arrow to hunt because that would be awesome

i love to read and im constantly getting made fun of by my brothers or friends. usually i just go to the library and see what there is. i like to read different books by the same author because i know his/her style of writing. sometimes i get lost in a book about mystery or romance. those are the two types of books that interest me. one time my mom was reading a book by mary higgins clark and i got hooked on them. sometimes i would put the book down to go eat dinner or go out, then when i come back to finish, i sometimes turn on the tv to continue where i left off. i love it when authors could write like that and make you feel part of the action itself.

My favorite book is Speak by Lorie Harrison, i think ( not to sure if thats the author).I first read the book in 7th grade, if i can remember. It didn't really have an effect on me, probably because i was so young. But, earlier this year, I was looking through my bookself and spotted it. I decided to reread it. I found that I could really relate to it, because the book is based on a teenager going through the everyday challenges of highschool and well her life.It makes me think about highschool, parties, boys etc. It makes me think about reality also , that teenage girls and all girls in general are physically and mentually abused all the time.

I would have to say I dont really have a favorite book, I have a favorite author named Sarah Dessen and I love pretty much all of the books I have read by her.I LOVE HER!! and I think her books are just amazing, my favorite is stuck between This Lullaby and Just Listen, she really knows how a teenager opperates. And I love to find all the little connections she throws into the books it makes the reader feel like these characters are still living in the same world, her stories come to life whenever I read them and I love every single book. Usually I try and read books from the same author I guess because I am more familliar with their writting style. Usually when I go and pick out a book to read the cover always has to catch my eye somehow I know, I know "your not suppose to judge a book by its cover" but in this case I do. I love books with nice covers and I love finding a book with a nice cover and then you look at the description of the book and it is something your into. Ah I just love that I always feel like I have won the lottery when that happens!

One of my favorite books, or series of books, is Eragon. It's about this person that finds a blue rock, but then it breaks open and a dragon comes out, so it was really a dragon's egg, and not a rock. And then a bunch of other stuff happens, and the book ends, and then the other book starts, and he finds our there are a couple of other dragons, and then it ends. And then the third book starts, and there is a sacrifice and this guy cuts off his own arm, and that's the book that I'm reading right now and I'm not done with it yet.

But that's not why it's my favorite book. It's my favorite because when I read it, I forget about everything else and I imagine I am part of the story. It's not exactly that, but that's the best way to describe it. And it's a good series. It was written by this guy that's really young, and he's a good author regardless.

I also think there are a lot of other good books, like Harry Potter. He gets made fun of a lot by people that don't like reading, though, but it doesn't matter to him because he's not a real boy, like Pinocchio.

Books spelled backwards is Skoob.

Tyler's favorite book choice is SILLY.

Also, Nuffin rhymes with Orange, but it also rhymes with Muffin.
It's not that hard to figure out. By the transitive property of equality, Orange somehow rhymes with Muffin.

-Your good friend Tom, who's also a doctor.

Tom Ludwig, PHD said...

For anyone who didn't get the "nuffin rhymes with orange" joke, nuffin sort of sounds like "nothing", and nothing rhymes with orange.

Doorhinge doesn't rhyme with orange because nuffin does, and nuffin doesn't rhyme with doorhinge. Anyone could have figured that one out.

I bet you there's a Chuck Norris joke about rhyming with orange. That's just a guess.

-That was whoever you thought it was.

Hmm, my favorite book...
I would have to say my favorite book series would be the Inheritance Cycle. I noticed a lot of other people did these books too but who cares! My opinion matters much more anyway. (just kidding)

I think it's cool how the author connects the world of dragons and dragon riders and magic to a simple farm boy, which changes his world. It's just so fun to get immersed in this world of blood and swords. These books are my favorite series mainly because they always keep me wanting more. It rarely gets boring and it's ALWAYS full of action. Well, I'll see you all in class, I have to go practice my monologue for tomorrow

I enjoy reading, but I usually don't have the time. Well, I do have the time, but I'm the type of person that needs a whole hour of doing nothing in order to shake off the stress.
And of course drawing takes up a lot of my time too. Sence drawing is like the funnest thing in the world!~

But if I do pick up a book, it'll probably be because of an intresting plot, or picture books(my personal favourite )

I've been known to judge books on their cover. It's normally the only thing that'll catch my attention anyways. xD It's rare I'll actually read the summary on the back.

My favourite book would have to be the Acadamy by Haley Toldrum c: The book's not publish, but it's really good!~ This may sound silly, but one of my friends actually wrote it, and when she gets proffessional editors and stuff I'm sure she'll make it a hit. A___A

Well now when you look at my post youll be happy since mine is pbly alot shorter than everyone elses. but oh well. Deal with it.

But anyway books. It may not seem like it but i read alot. I really dontlook like a person that reads. But i do so ha. Well anyway, i really dont remember the titles of books very well. i read the books for the content, not the title. Sometimes it takes me alot longer than it should to finish a book but im fine with that. not like im being forced to read.
But really one of the only series of books i remember somewhat is harry potter. its pbly the most known series around. but still thats like the only series i actually remember.

I know im just rambling now so peace =)

..... sometimes I wonder about the blog... Anyway, first off I want to wish Ashley good luck, and next I want to say my favorite books, from when I was younger was the Artimus Fowl (I think that's how it's spelled) series. The first book was especially memorable for me, because of how I got it. When I was in 3rd grade, I got my first book report. I was freaking out, and did not know what to read. So, I went to the bookstore, my dad asked what he would recommend, and he said he just got finished reading a new series called the "Artemis Fowl" series, about a young supergenius who would get tangled in a world with other fantasy creatures, such as goblins. I used it on my book report, liked all the creativity and action, and got a good grade on my essay. I liked that the book opened up the possibility that there was a different underworld, where there are creatures that did not exist on the surface. This is why it is one of my favorite books.

My favorite book by far is Twilight. My friend recomendended it to me in the begining of 8th grade. i never really got a chance to sit down and read it untill the summer. When i did i was astounded. I read the whole series in a week. When i read twilight i imagine that someone like Edward actually existed or if i went to Forks i would meet him.
Another book series I like a lot is the Harry Potter Series. My great aunt recomended me to them and bought them for me as a christmas present. I loved them when i first read them and I couldn't wait untill the last book came out. When it did, i got it the release night. I read the book in less then 48 hours.

I am a huge reader and i've always been since i was little. I always have a book on hand to read even if i know i'll never have time for it. I think reading is just an enjoyable thing

i loooooove books. i always feel like there are too many books in the world that i want to read, and i'll never have enough time to finish them all. i don't know what it is about reading, but i love it. its always hard for my to pick a favorite anything, probably because im so indecisive. that goes for books as well, but there are some things that i could read over and over again and never get tired of. one of those being the harry potter book series, probably some of the first books i ever got reallllly into, around 4th grade. theres just something about them i love. i read just about anything, whether books my friends tell me to read, ones ive heard good things about. sometimes my sisters give me book ideas, and they can be hard to read but i always finish them. i'm really diverse with books, because i enjoy children's series' as much as older, "classic" books. just sitting outside and reading is one of my favorite things to do, its so peaceful. i am highly excited for summer, because then i can read all i want in the (hopefully) warm summer-ness.

Im sure im not the only one going to give this answer.lol. I would have to say my favorite books would have to be the twilight series. I actually started reading them because one of my friends told me how good they were. Normally i dont read that often for fun. I have to be really interested in a book to be able to read. But when i started reading the twilight series , i couldnt get the next one fast enough. I read the twilight series in record time for me. I think it took me about a week and a half to read the whole series. Now i really enjoy reading i have read so many books this school year. The next books on my list to read is the Harry Potter. Yes its true i have never read them. But my friends always talk about them and how good they were i thought i'd give it a try. lol Plus i really like the movies and the books are always so much better than the movies.
